Rodcast 38: Boxing

I'll be honest. I don't even remember what we talked about. I'm just glad I didn't have to work on Boxing Day.

  1. Wikipedia has a good explanation of Boxing Day and is worth checking out if you're curious.

Having to do with how physical Christ's conception was, I fall back on what I believed growing up Catholic: it wasn't. It was basically a fiat act in which Christ came into physical existence. There was no sexual contact between God the Father and Mary. She would have had to be translated for such a thing to happen in the first place. Catholics believe in the idea of Christ being "begotten, not made", which I think is a valid idea for Christianity overall. He did not come into existence by physical contact between God and Mary. I'm with Jon...Holy Ghost in a lab coat.

I want an Rodcast shot glass! You should come up with some drinking games for the show to go along with the shot glasses.

Yes, Jon, the first three gospels are the synoptic gospels. They are written in a similar format and cover similar ground. John is out on his own, so to speak. More poetic, more of a defense of Christ than a description of his works like the other 3.

And Maria got bleeped at the end? Wow.

I think my 2011 theme is going to be "internal peace". 2010 was the year of financial/job solidification...2011 is the year I'm going to work on the inside.

Happy New Year, guys (and Maria and Laura and everyone else you've had on this year). Looking forward to NT and additional fun second topics in 2011.
