  1. One of my favorite things to do is listen to the Rodcast and then heckle Pete via Google Talk on what I'm hearing.

It was good though, because Pete and I established that we would never work out because he is anti-family and I spend a lot of time with my family. He wants to cut family out of Christmas and I think family is a big part of Christmas. Sigh. So at least we know now. But Pete, I'm still happy to come over and cuddle with you if you want.

Some of those qualities listed make me laugh. "Loves to dance" has never been one of mine. So guys want a girl who's frugal and wise but girls don't care about that in a guy? I guess if he's spending all his money on you it doesn't matter.

  2. Peter:

Here's the Elder Maxwell quote I referred to in Institute last week, regarding meekness (if you want to share it with Joey):

In daily discipleship, the many ways to express selfishness are matched by many ways to avoid it. Meekness is the real cure, for it does not merely mask selfishness but dissolves it! Smaller steps could include asking ourselves inwardly before undertaking an important action, Whose needs am I really trying to meet? Or in significant moments of self-expression, we can first count to 10. Such thoughtful filtering can multiply our offering by 10 as a mesh of reflective meekness filters out destructive and effusive ego (Neal A. Maxwell, “Repent of [Our] Selfishness” [D&C 56:8],” Ensign, May 1999, 230.

I've heard "The Adjustment Bureau" referred to as a movie about 'the other plan'. Sounds like that's true...

Back in the days before match.com or eHarmony or any of that stuff, we did "Compatibility" at my high school. Every year around Valentine's Day, the student council, as a fundraiser, would hand out tests to students and interested faculty, and then a week or two later, you'd get the results of with whom in the school you were most compatible. It was more amusing than it being a push to get people to ask each other out, but still, good information. I almost think they should do that in singles wards these days...
